A little about 8 Bit Tech

8 Bit Technology, LLC is responsible for ensuring the safety of technology platforms including workstations, server systems, networks, applications, databases, and electronic information, and protecting the systems from security violations, access, or destruction. Assists with implementing Information Technology security policies covering protocols, applications, networks, client and server systems, personnel, and other risk management mechanisms.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor and investigate in real-time the organization’s networks, systems, applications, and databases to protect the company’s internal partners and external customers from security violations, access, or destruction

  • Perform Cybersecurity investigations – Cyber Security Incident Response Plan (CSIRP) and make recommendations to management on findings and solutions

  • Reporting of identified metrics, threats, relevant trends, and other topics as requested by the Chief Digital Officer, Chief Information Officer, Information Security Officer

  • Actively engage and collaborate with other groups within the Digital Grid Management (DGM) team and internal partners

  • Act as an escalation point for security analysts and be able to assist in problem-solving by providing cybersecurity expertise and knowledge of the corporate technology environment

  • Train new and existing SOC analysts to utilize the company security tools necessary to perform analyst duties

  • Guide and mentor SOC analysts to develop knowledge and understanding of security threats, trends, and intelligence

  • Coordinating with the Manager for high-priority incidents

  • Ensure the Director of Cybersecurity and CIO is apprised of technical and regulatory changes in the security landscape

  • A change agent adapts and drives change throughout the organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented with a passion for delivering above-par results in a proactive manner

  • Perform all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements as assigned

Tim Ingram
Owner - 8 Bit Technology, LLC

Tim has over a decade of information processing experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of OS and application software to include relational databases.   
His strengths include Configuration Management and Enterprise Administration. Also, he has expertise on Novel and Microsoft Windows servers, and Apple and PC platforms. Add to his experience project and task management in large corporations through contract work in areas such as Washington, D.C., Augusta, GA & Orlando FL.  He has been here in Fayetteville for 10 years, providing personalized support for his clients, both personal and business related.  Tim is the only Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer available for contract work on an hourly basis in the area.

He is responsible for all real estate, construction and mission critical facilities: hardened buildings, power systems, cooling systems, fire suppression, and environmentals. Tim also manages relationships with the telecommunications providers and has an extensive background in IT infrastructure support, database administration and software design and development. Tim's architected Lifeline’s proprietary GRCA system in the Data-center is in the beta phase, however, is expanding the Company's capabilities to keep up with the Block-chain revolution unfolding in today's IT world.  TIm and is hands-on every day in the data-center.

I have been working in IT since 1985.  I became an MCP in 1993 and have enjoyed growing with this fast past industry!

I'M A "MCP"

 

The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credential certifies an individuals expertise in specific Microsoft technologies, according to Microsoft. 
The program consists of five series: 

  • Technical

  • Specialist

  • Professional

  • Master

  • Architect

Microsoft offers certifications in several areas including server technology, developer tools, Windows and Microsoft Office. Each series consists of certifications that test varied areas of knowledge. For example, the Microsoft Office series tests knowledge of SharePoint Server--SharePoint application development or configuration, for example--and Office Communications Server. MCPs are IT professionals who work as developers, help desk technicians or technical architects. Typically, businesses need MCPs to provide a range of services. Resources such as recruiters, online databases and networking are available to help you locate an MCP.

Microsoft certifications are validated using the MCP Transcript validation page. To view the certification transcript belonging to a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), you will need the MCP's Transcript ID and Access Code. This information is obtained by the MCP using the Microsoft Certification member site.

Every Microsoft-Certified Professional has a Microsoft Certification ID (MC ID), formerly known as a Microsoft Certified Professional ID (MCP ID). The MC ID is shown in emails from the Microsoft Certification Program and in the MCP’s profile information on the Microsoft Certification member site. 8 Bit Technology, LLC began working with Paydirt Miners in 2010 and in March of 2018 a collaboration to move our Cryptocurrency mining operation into a Data Center. It took less than a year to outgrow that location.
